Hoops Before Violence Boys & Girls Club, is a newly founded part time, (soon to be full-time) recreation club (within Dakota County, MN) whose number one goal is to keep our youth on the right path. Watching the news over the past few years, it seems like our youth tends to turn towards gangs, or violence upon another because they are not sure how to channel their energy.
Why should we blame them?
We shouldn't!
But, why?
We live in an economy where it's hard to provide our children with the adequate recreational supervision for them to learn new skills. There's about 40 students or more trying out for a team, but since one child knows less then the other they get left out and often teased on how they did not make the team. Here at Hoops Before Violence Boys & Girls Club, we have 1 main coach, & 2 assistant coaches to every group of 20. This way there can be more 1-On-1 guidance, and a better chance of learning from hands-on training.
We do charge a membership fee as well as other recreational clubs, but we go the extra mile to make each child feel as part of a winning team. We provide customized gear, youth mouth guards, and so much more. Check out the "Team Gear" page! We also reward every child with a special ceremony upon completion of program.
